Yes! As an Administrator of your workspace, you can perform mass creation of Funder contacts by using a comma-separated values (CSV) file.
1. Creating the File
You can use Excel to create the CSV file with the following columns (where 1, 2 and 3 are required):
- Company Name*
- Company DBA*
- Submission Email*
- Submission Link Password
The required columns do not need to be in this exact order. But the import process requires the HEADER columns to be named as: Company Name, Company DBA, Submission Email, Submission Link Password. Otherwise, the column will be omitted during the import process.
In the example below, the additional columns (E, F and G) will be ignored during the import process.
If there are MULTIPLE submission emails per funder you want to upload, we can accommodate that! Just separate each email address with a comma, and keep them all on the same line:
Once you have your Funder contacts listed in the right columns, you can use Excel's "Save As" function to save the file as a CSV file.
2. Uploading the File
Once you have the CSV saved, you can locate the Administrative Tools button on the left side of your workspace:
When you are in the Administrative Tools page, click on the Import button which will take you to the Imports page:
From the Imports page, click on the Funders button to be taken to the Import Funders page.
On the Import Funders page, you can either drag and drop your CSV file into the blue area of the page OR click on "Select CSV File" which will bring up a window for you to select your file.
After you have selected your CSV file, click on the "Upload" button to send your CSV to MCA Suite:
To complete the bulk import of funders, make sure you see the file you have uploaded display at the bottom of the screen. Then click the "Process" button to finalize upload:
Once the file has been processed, you will received a confirmation of the number of records that have been imported and which rows has been skipped due to errors.
